Abyssal is a fast growing start-up in the Oil & Gas Subsea market, working with 3D and Augmented Reality for Remotely Operated Vehicles. The current team is composed of 14 developers, expecting to double this year. We have offices in Porto, Portugal and Austin, TX, USA.
Applicants should be able to have a knack for problem solving and a high range of technology experience.
Use of Microsoft technologies: C#, MVVM and WPF to develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Design, code, test, debug and document software according to the functional requirements
Develop, maintain and support programs/tools for internal and external clients
Analyze, diagnose and resolve errors related to their applications
Help define project plans requiring software development and hardware installations
Provide technical and project management expertise across multiple areas of application development
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
Investigate operational or systematic problems and user queries as required
Follow all department standards and methodologies
Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, senior management and customers
Communicate effectively and clearly, in writing and verbally, in one-on-one and group presentation situations
Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for technical and business suitability
Write user manuals
Keep abreast of technical and industry developments
Key skills and Experience
University degree in computer science or a related field
Competent use of English (reading, writing and speaking)
C# WPF 4.5 Experience
ORMs eg.: Entity Framework and NHibernate
WCF technology Experience
Test Driven Development (TDD)
Strong ability to effectively lead a team
3D Game Engines Knowledge
JIRA Agile Experience
DirectX 9/11/12 Knowledge
